Code of Ethics
Our Standards
David's Fine Jewelry has served Columbia, SC and the surrounding Midlands area since 1977. Nearly five decades in business doesn't happen by accident. It happens because we've spent that time building real relationships with real people across the Midlands, one customer at a time. These are the principles we hold ourselves to.
Honest Pricing
We price our work and our products fairly. Whether you're coming in for a ring repair from Irmo, Lexington, or Chapin, or shopping for an engagement ring from West Columbia or Cayce, you won't find inflated estimates or unnecessary charges here. If a repair isn't worth doing, we'll tell you. We'd rather lose a transaction than lose your trust.
Straight Talk
We won't oversell you. The Midlands has no shortage of jewelry stores, and we've never relied on pressure tactics to keep customers coming back from Ballentine, Blythewood, or anywhere else in the Columbia area. If something isn't the right fit for your budget or your needs, we'd rather say so than make a sale we can't stand behind.
Respect for Your Property
Every piece that comes through our doors at 7001 St. Andrews Road is handled with care. We understand what jewelry means to people across the Midlands, whether you're coming in from Dutch Fork, Lake Murray, or right here in the St. Andrews corridor. A family heirloom deserves to be treated like one, and so does the person who brought it in.
Fair Buying Practices
We purchase gold, silver, sterling flatware, coins, and estate jewelry from customers throughout Columbia, Lexington County, and the greater Midlands region. Our offers reflect current market value, we explain our process upfront, and we never pressure anyone into selling.
No Hidden Agendas
We don't work on commission. Our recommendations are based on what's actually right for you, not what moves product. That's been true since Mike Baughman opened this store on St. Andrews Road, and it's still true today under Matt.
Building Long-Term Relationships
We're not interested in one-time transactions. The customers who've been with us for 20 and 30 years aren't still driving in from Lexington, Chapin, and Northeast Columbia because we gave them a good deal once. They're coming back because we earned their trust and kept it. We remember our customers, we look out for them, and we consider it a privilege when someone trusts us with something that matters to them. That's the kind of jewelry store we've always tried to be, and it's the reason three generations of Midlands families have made us part of their story.
Standing Behind Our Work
If something we repaired or ordered isn't right, we make it right. Customers have trusted us with their jewelry from Lexington to Irmo to Northeast Columbia for going on 50 years because we don't walk away from our work. A good reputation is built repair by repair, sale by sale, and relationship by relationship. We take that seriously.
